From a young age, Pearl's family members supported her artistic talents. At the age of 4, she started to play the piano and since then has studied with multiple alumni of The Juilliard School. Pearl won prestigious piano awards and performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York City. She now holds private piano lessons for students of all ages and has a passion for teaching, influenced by her grandparents, who were both professors at Peking University. Pearl's mother graduated from the People's Liberation Army Academy of Art in Beijing, China, and Pearl's grandfather was a calligrapher. Naturally, Pearl desires to express her innermost thoughts through art, therefore pursuing fine arts in high school. There, Pearl received art awards and had her ink and pencil drawing titled
"I am..." exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Currently, Pearl's projects at Parsons School of Design involve the connection between fashion, photography, and fine arts. By experimenting with fabric installations consisting of her own photographs as well as silk painting, Pearl explores her visions through traditional practices.
